New V50 software released for the M30 Alarm Dialer
The new V50 software version has many new features and improvements, but the main changes are listed below.
New V50 software released for the M30 Alarm Dialer
Keypad
The M30 will now automatically progress to the next slot after a phone number has been added or edited.
The only exception is if it is already at the last slot in that roster/group.
Delays
All Dial out delays on the M30 can now be skipped over/though by simply pressing the “ESC” key.
This includes the Input delay, Inter-dial out delay and the Extended pause delay.
Number Skip Dial out Feature
The M30 now gives you the ability to manually select the number to be dialed from the currently selected roster.
For example during your weekly tests you don’t want to disturb the person in Dial out 2 as they are on holiday, with this feature you can just skip over them and jump straight Dial out 3.
When “TEL” appears on the display press the “ESC” key and you will hear a small beep. You can now use the down arrow to cycle though all the Dial out slots in the currently selected roster. (Every time you press the down arrow you will see the Dial out slot number change.)
If you go too far just keep pressing the down arrow, and the M30 will loop around.
When you are happy press the “ESC” key again and the M30 will carry on from the chosen number.

Wireless Communication
The M30 can send both wireless speech and SMS messages over the GSM mobile networks. The Speech side can be used as the main communication medium or as a backup device if required, each M30 comes with a standard PSTN landline connection, the M30 monitors the landline and if it fails automatically switch’s to the GSM networks.
The outgoing alarm messages are very easy to setup; While programming in your alarm contact telephone numbers you just select whether the recipient gets a Speech or an SMS message.
Messages
Each input on the M30 has its own dedicated Speech or SMS message plus there is a machine identifier. So instead of getting a “Channel 18 Alarm Condition”, you get a much more useful ” London Reservoir – High water level section B2″.
Alarm SMS Dialer Message Example
The Speech messages are fully user recordable via the Menu and LCD.
To make things easier for the end user we setup all the outgoing SMS messages to the users specification, this saves the user from typing in hundreds of characters.
If the user wants to change the SMS messages we just send out a replacement card that slots on the front.

SMS Alarm Dialer
The M30 SMS Alarm Dialer is an rugged machine specifically designed for commercial and industrial conditions. It has over 60 years of alarm dialer design experience behind it and was designed with input from our customers to make sure it had all the features and functions they required.
SMS Alarm Dialer
The M30 SMS features include 4,8,16 or 56 individual inputs each with their own SMS or voice message, IP56 enclosure, integrated mains failure and 24+hrs battery backup to name a few (check out a more in-depth list below).
SMS features;
The SMS feature is very easy to setup, when you are setting up the outgoing alarm contact numbers you just select whether you would like the recipient to get an SMS or a voice message, the rest is done automatically for you.
Each individual input on the M30 has its own individual SMS message, plus there is a universal machine identification, so you can easily tell where it has come from.
So for example instead of getting a generic “Channel 32 Alarm Condition” SMS message you get a much more useful “London Desalination Plant – Low Water in tank 22” message.
To make things easier for you we set up all the messages so you do not end up sitting there for hours typing in each message
Speech Messages;
If required you can also send voice messages to your alarm recipients, this can be over a standard PSTN lane line telephone or via the mobile GSM networks.
If you use the PSTN network you can setup the M30 to monitor the line and if it fails, to automatically switch to the GSM network to ensure you always get your alarms out.
As per the SMS messages each input can have its own individual speech message.
Software Features;
The M30 is designed and built by us in the UK and is fully customisable, so if you would like the M30 to work in a certain way or to have a unique function for your application then we will be happy to create it for you.
We also have lots of “off the shelf” upgrades available for example;
- More alarm numbers – As standard the M30 allows you to have up to 5 numbers in each roster (alarm contact list) but this can be extended to 10 or more.
- Auto Isolate – M30 automatically turns itself on and off at predefined times and days.
- Channel to Roster – Each input can dial a totally separate list of alarm contacts.
- Auto Test – The M30 will automatically make a test call on a predefined time and day.
Standard Features;
Below is a small subset of the standard features on the M30, for a more comprehensive list or information please contact us or visit the standard or optional features pages.

CTR Channel to Roster Software Upgrade
On a Standard M30 on when dialing it will select the Duty Roster set by the User (1,2 or 3). The current Duty Roster selected is shown on the top right of the LCD display (e.g. R1, R2, R3).
CTR Channel to Roster Software Upgrade
The Channel to Roster software works differently. When an alarm becomes active, instead of the M30 dialling out on one of the Duty Rosters, the M30 will automatically select a Roster linked to that alarm channel.
So for Example;
If Channel 1 is activated it will dial Roster 1.
If Channel 5 is activated it will dial Roster 5.
If Channel 10 is activated it will dial Roster 10 etc.
This software upgrade is great for when you need to communicate different alarms to different people for example the fire brigade for the fire alarm and the maintenance department for the Air Conditioning in the server room.
This new feature is available either as an option on a new M30 or as a simple software upgrade on a current machine.

Fish Farm Alarm System
As fish farms are typically located in rural and remote locations we have designed our M30 along with our customers input to be the most robust and flexible system on the market. For example the M30 comes with 4 all the way to 56 separate alarm inputs, integrated 24hr plus battery backup, integrated mains failure and low battery alarms to name just a few – To see a full list look below or visit our Standard or Optional Features pages.
SMS
Alarm SMS Dialer Message Example
The M30 now comes with the option to send SMS text messages instead of or as well as voice messages. It is very easy to use, while setting up your M30 you simply select whether you would like the alarm message recipient to get an SMS or voice message.
Each input has its own user definable message plus there is a general machine identifier useful if you have more than one site. So for example instead of getting a “channel 1 alarm” you would receive a much more usefully “Windsor Fish Farm Low Water Alarm”.
PSTN and or GSM Phone networks
Because it can be difficult to get a PSTN landline to remote locations or get a cell \ mobile phone signal we have provided multiple connection options to the M30.
The M30 can connect to either a landline PSTN phone network or GSM mobile network or both to send voice alarm messages. If you choose to use both types, then the GSM network is used as a backup, so if the landline fails or is blocked it will automatically be swapped to the GSM network.

How Do I Monitor My Computer Room
The Monitoring of both manned and unmanned Computer \ Server Rooms and Data Centres is today considered mandatory by most organisations as even a small down time can cause hundreds of wasted man hours by employees or customers left twisting their thumbs as they cannot access the items they require.
How Do I Monitor My Computer Room
The problem with most solutions on the market is they rely upon some aspect of your infrastructure to still be working e.g. network and internet connections for email or SNMP alerts, your internal phone exchange or VOIP systems for phone alerts or even just something as simple as power if they don’t have an integrated battery backup.
This is were the M30 Alarm Dialer comes in, the M30 is a totally independent solution with various fail safes built in including battery backup, multiple phone line options & backups plus automatic test calls.
Most importantly unlike most other alarm dialers on the market that are designed for domestic use the M30 is specifically designed for industrial and commercial situations. It is used by companies around the world for example Sellafield Nuclear Power Plant, Great Ormond Street Hospital, BBC, London Heathrow, London Underground, Johnsons & Johnsons, Heinz frozen foods, Houses of Parliament – UK, FujiFilm, Merial Animal Health and Coca Cola.
The M30 comes with 4,8,16 and 56 separate inputs, allowing you to easily monitor various items from your computer room and surrounding building for example Mains Failure alarms, Multiple Temperature Thermostats, The alarm output on your Air-Conditioning systems, UPS alarm outputs, Security \ Access Control systems and Flood \ Water alarms.
Alarm Messages
The M30 can send alarm messages by Voice, SMS, Pager or Data.
Phone line backup – The M30 gives you four facilities for connecting a phone line;
- Via the default PSTN land line connection.
- Via a dedicated GSM connection. – Great if you don’t want or can’t have a PSTN connection.
- GSM as a backup, the M30 will continually monitor the connected PSTN line, if this fails then the M30 will automatically switch to the GSM network. – Great for critical situations.
- You can also connect our SMS module allowing you to send SMS messages in addition to or instead of a voice call.
M30 Features;
- 4,8,16,56 separate alarm inputs, each with their own dedicated speech message
- PSTN Phone line connection
- GSM Phone line Connection either dedicated line or as a backup option.
- SMS Text Message Option

Remote Alarm Monitoring SMS
You can have the most advanced alarm system in the world, but like the proverbial tree in the forest, if no one hears it, not only was the system a waste of money but you have probably lost whatever it was monitoring.
Remote Alarm Monitoring with SMS
That is why our M30 Alarm Dialer is specifically designed to Remotely Monitor Alarms on unmanned or critical industrial / commercial sites. It comes with all the types of feature you would expect from an industrial unit, including; 4-56 separate inputs, GSM & PSTN communication, industrial components, integrated battery backup and an IP56 enclosure. – Check out more features at the bottom of this post.
The M30 Alarm dialer can even be installed in locations without a physical phone line by using its GSM voice and SMS options.
The SMS option allows you can choose the type of message (SMS / Speech message) each alarm recipient will get via the easy to use LCD and menu system. E.g. If you wanted you could set it up so that the first person gets a SMS, the second a voice, the third a SMS etc.
Each input/channel on the M30 has its own user definable message SMS and speech message so instead of a generic “channel 1 alarm” you will receive a more useful “High Temperature in building 181” each machine also has a unit identifier message (e.g. “This is the Aberdeen water treatment plant”) to enable you to easily distinguish where the alarm message has come from.
Below are some of the features available on the M30;
- 4,8,16 and 56 individual inputs/ channels.
- Individual user recordable speech and or SMS messages for each input.
- Voice, SMS, Pager alarm messages
- PSTN and or GSM phone network connection.

Multi Channel Active Alert Feature
As of the Summer of 2013 we have added another new feature to our M30 Alarm Dialler, the ability to setup a default “Multi Channel Active” alert message.
On a standard M30 when you get an alarm call, the M30 will play a message detailing every current active alarm, this can take a while if there are lots of active alarms, especially on a 16 or 56 channel machine.
With the “Multi Channel Active” feature if more than 4 (default is 4 but is alterable) channels/inputs are active the M30 will play a short user recordable message e.g. “There are Multiple Alarms Active, call back or interrogate for more information”.
If you want to know exactly what channels are active you just have to phone the M30 back to cancel the alarm or perform a standard integration, and as per a normal machine the M30 will list all the active channels.
This new feature is available either as an option on a new M30 or as a simple software upgrade on a current machine.
For more information and pricing on the Multi Channel Active Alert Feature please contact us
